The aim of the Genio Mental Health Programme is to accelerate the availability of recovery-based, cost-effective, individualised supports and services to enable people with mental health difficulties to live as included and valued members of the community. This involves a move away from traditional, often expensive, services which group and segregate people focussing on their deficits rather than their strengths.
From 2010-2014 there was an annual mental health funding round each year. All funding rounds are subject to agreement with the HSE.
In mental health, in counties around Ireland there has been:
- 103 projects supported
- €8.1 million funding awarded
- 7,161 beneficiaries
Detailed information about each funding round and the projects supported each year are available in this section.
