The National Dementia Office, HSE and Genio are hosting a regional event on 'Innovation through collaboration in Dementia Care' in CHO area 1 (Cavan - Monaghan - Sligo - Leitrim - Donegal).

This event will be of particular interest to health and social care professionals working in CHO Area 1, as well as families and individuals interested in this topic. It will provide an opportunity to learn about innovative developments and supports, for people with dementia in the community - both locally and nationally. In addition, there will be dedicated sessions for cross-disciplinary roundtable discussion and collaboration.

Programme overview
- Presentations from a national perspective will include an overview of national initiatives by Anna de Siún from the National Dementia Office, featuring a representative from the PREPARED Programme (GP and Primary Care programme); and supporting families in the caring role by Dr. Patricia McPartland.
- Key topics on local initiatives in CHO Area 1 will include integrated care; dementia consortia; person-centred support; supporting people with advanced dementia; intellectual disability and dementia; and memory technology resource rooms.
